water Paleokastritsa

Famous coves and monasteries. Good for swimming and views. Roughly 30–40 min by car. Can get busy in peak season; go early if you want a quieter spot.

sailing Kassiopi

Pretty harbour village to the north. Nice for a stroll, lunch by the sea, and boat trips. About 20–25 min by car.

landscape Sidari & Canal d’Amour

Sidari has beaches and the famous Canal d’Amour rock formations. Around 25–30 min by car. Good for a half-day trip.

  • Sun: Use sunscreen and a hat; the sun is strong from late morning onwards.
  • Water: Tap water in the area is generally not for drinking; buy bottled water from the supermarket.
  • Driving: Drive on the right. Some coastal and mountain roads are narrow; take your time.
  • Buses: Green buses (KTEL) run to Corfu town and other areas; timetables can change, so check locally or online.
  • Cash: Many small shops and tavernas prefer or only accept cash; keep some euros handy.
  • Quiet hours: Please respect neighbours and avoid loud noise late at night.
